Salvation Army Backpack Drive 2016

A big Thank You to all of our customers and friends who helped support EON’s 2016 Backpack Drive for the Salvation Army. EON was able to fill 500 backpacks with necessary school supplies, which we distributed through the Salvation Army to help children in need throughout Colorado head back to school prepared for success.

EON volunteers filled backpacks in our warehouse and distributed them at the Salvation Army Denver Red Shield Community Center. It was wonderful to see the smiles on students’ faces as they chose their favorite color of backpack! The photos below show our volunteers filling backpacks and delivering them to the children.

Thank you again for your support, and we wish all the students in your life a successful trip back to school this year!

Janitorial Supplies that are Eco-Friendly

There are several reasons why your business might choose to use eco-friendly or “green” cleaning products for commercial cleaning - but here are a few more. Typically, office cleaning products contain harmful chemicals that can impact your employees. On the surface they may appear to be clean, but the chemicals from harsher cleaning products often result in undetectable fumes by smell, and can lower indoor air quality within your office building. Cleaners that are not eco-friendly have also been known to potentially cause problems such as irritation of the eyes, lethargic behavior and skin irritations. If consistently used, they could eventually lead to diseases or other health conditions.

Some of these issues are dependent upon the type of building or workspace, actual employee job duties, and how long employees occupy the building.  As an example, hospital staff are often exposed to these cleaning chemicals for a much longer duration because the more frequent cleanings, longer hours and different areas of work.  Consider this example when you are evaluating your office environment. In addition to eliminating harsh chemicals, "green" cleaners can improve the health of employees and create a healthier environment for customers as well.

Office Furniture & Collaboration Designs

intermix_6_1000_562

Most of us working in office settings know that times and furniture surroundings have changed.  Large companies with a single location have become rare, as many enterprises now have global locations with employees in several office locations, as well as those telecommuting.  Collaboration between employees and independent contractors who could be working from anywhere in the world is now commonplace.  Collaboration studies have shown drastic improvements in employee morale, as well as double digit boosts in productivity.  Creating this culture in the office starts with creating an environment with your office furniture that can easily adapt to more fluid surroundings.

A key component of collaboration design is creating a working area where your team can easily gather for meetings, suggestion sessions or project-specific brainstorming. Modular furniture that can be re-designed and re-purposed for both team environments and for more private, focused-work settings is also a key element of a collaborative workplace.

Our full-service furniture division, Environments Denver, has implemented popular designs including double-sided benching workstations with tackable fabric screens to create individual privacy, as seen here with our 90Octane office design. Another option apart from double-sided benching can be accomplished with individual workstations that incorporate open office design, while still including privacy features - as can be seen here with the office furniture design project we did for Crestcom. As you can see from these examples, creating a professional, functional and inviting work space is easier than it looks!

EON Backpack Drive for the Salvation Army

Help the Salvation Army send students in our community back to school this fall, ready to learn!

Unfortunately, many students in the Colorado community return to school with empty backpacks or worn-out hand-me-downs. We are partnering with The Salvation Army, and you, to be sure the children of our community each have a backpack this fall. Students who are equipped with proper school supplies are more likely to stay focused and perform better throughout the year. It helps with self-confidence and keeps them motivated.

For $15, you can help us provide a backpack filled with needed school supplies, including pencils, paper, crayons, markers, folders, glue, scissors and more. To donate, order item number EONBACKPACK while supplies last. Donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
