Trends in Textiles and Fabrics
Here at EON, our interior designers have highlighted some current key trends in the textile and fabric design world. They believe that prints and patterns are definitely back on the rise with visual impact being the key theme. On one side there are fluid looking prints, peacock feather patterns, photographic images, graded dip dye designs, text, blurred images, florals and tropical prints. On the other side, one can see strong geometric designs, 3d patterns, repeated forms, kaleidoscopic images and patterns inspired by cells and molecules. Fabrics are about texture, be it visual or otherwise. Velvet, textures and raw looking weaves are popular and the use of fabric for sofas and upholstery is back. Here are a few popular design series.

The Pyschology of Color at Work
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today we might be seeing some red, green, and white around the workplace, for the colors of the Mexican flag. Color is a great way to decorate our office spaces, and certain colors affect us in different ways at work. Here are some suggestions about how to integrate colors in various work areas to bring out different effects.
RED
Red is notorious for being an energy simulator. While a boost of energy at work can certainly be advantageous, red is also known to be distracting and can reduce analytical thinking. Try integrating this color in the break room at work.
BLUE
Blue is thought to be one of the most universally accepted and overall favorite colors of people. Blue is wonderful for evoking feelings of stability and calmness, and will naturally lead to an increase in productivity. This is a good color to place where a lot of employees will spend time, so try using blue in a common area of the office.
GREEN
Green, much like blue, is thought to be a very universal color. Green is known as the color of balance, helps promote concentration, and can even spark creativity. A conference or meeting room might be the perfect place for this color as it will get ideas going and everyone will feel right at home.
YELLOW
Yellow is a happy and emotionally stimulating color. However, yellow should be used in moderation as the color is often not very popular, and bright yellow can be unsettling to the eyes. A good place for yellow would be in the office kitchen or bathroom.
PURPLE
Purple is a color of relaxation and can evoke feelings of meditation. Purple is also a color of royalty and sophistication, but like yellow should be used in moderation. A good place for this color would be a waiting room.
NEUTRAL COLORS
Black, white, and grey are all known as neutral colors. They are perfect for blending in the background and balancing other colors. Black, white, and grey should be used to accent primary colors and when used correctly can create a special feeling of emotion and color in the workplace.

History of the Office Chair
The office chair: we sit in one everyday, but chances are we've never given a thought to its origins. The office chair has roots going back to the mid-19th century, and has seen a great deal of change throughout the years. Here are some interesting points in the history of the office chair.
Early Innovators
One of the earliest known innovators of the office chair was none other than Charles Darwin around the year 1840. He is credited with being the first bright mind to think of putting wheels on the feet of his chair. What he created was essentially known as a "wooden armchair on wheels". Otto von Bismark also helped bring popularity to the office chair by distributing them throughout parliament while he was in office. One of the first modern office chairs was the Centripetal Spring Armchair by American inventor Thomas E. Warren (pictured above).
A Need for Office Chairs
In the mid-19th century, businesses were expanding due to the onset of rail transportation. Companies started to expand past the family model, and there was more of an emphasis on administrative work. Suddenly, office work was burgeoning and there was a focus on office environments, technology, and office equipment. The aim of the early office chair was to make clerical employees more productive and allow them to keep sitting and not have to exert a lot of energy by standing.
1970's: Ergonomics is born!
In the 1970's, the arrival of ergonomics took place. In 1976, the Ergon office chair was released. This was the first office chair designed with comfort and the physical health of the office worker in mind. Laborious research went into the design of the Ergon office chair, and it was really the first chair that would allow an office worker to make adjustments to its size, get proper spine support, and benefit from unrestricted blood flow by its two-pad seat.
Today, ergonomics is known to be vital in the office world. There have been a plethora of options of office chairs throughout history, and we look forward to seeing what office chairs will look like in the future!

Health Care Summit 2015
EON Office recently attended the Northern Colorado Health Care Summit 2015 at the Embassy Suites in Loveland, Colorado. A variety of businesses attended this event and helped strengthen the Moving Fort Collins Forward campaign and health care initiatives. Below are a couple photos of the EON booth.
EON Easter Egg Hunt
EON Office partnered with the Downtown Development Authority to bring an Easter Egg hunt to downtown Greeley for the first time in years. The EON Easter Egg Hunt featured 13,000 eggs full of prizes including candy, toys, $1 coins, coupons and certificates for downtown businesses. There was even an opportunity for students to win trophies. After the Greeley Family FunPlex decided to stop hosting an annual Easter egg hunt, Greeley native and EON Account Manager thought he should do something to replace the springtime classic. “I kind of saw a shortage in Easter egg hunts last year, I thought it was something important for the kids.”
